Technical

After our modest beginning in 1957 we have grown the fleet to a dynamic 400 vehicles. All our procurement is done in-house from the smallest parts up to all vehicles that are clearly visible on the roads today.

Maintaining this fleet is the magic of our Technical Manager, Roule Trautmann. With his 25 years experience in the transport industry he makes light work of such a demanding profile.

Our workshops are state of the art and equipped with all possible tools for the job. We also have accreditation from the likes of Volvo, Afrit, Top Trailers and SA Truck Bodies. At our two main facilities (Brakpan and Wellington) we take on all repairs, from faulty lights to the rebuilding of accident damaged vehicles. Our workshops are situated on site in Wellington, Brakpan with satellite facilities erected in Keetmanshoop as well as Brandvlei.
We also have an integrated network of support throughout South Africa and all SADEC regions to assist us in breakdowns and vehicle recoveries.

We take pride in our operation and more so in our vehicles. The technical department thus forms the backbone of our operation.




Tracking

To ensure the continued satisfaction of our clients, the following measures are in place:

  1. Our driver performance is monitored by our members of operations. All of our vehicles are fitted with satellite tracking devices that record specific details of the trip. These details are evaluated continually to ensure the safety of our drivers and vehicles, the goods they transport and the general public.
  2. Delivery times on all routes are checked strictly and incentive bonuses are paid to drivers that stay within these limits. "Green Band" driving and fuel efficiency are also taken into account.
  3. Two centralized operations offices constantly monitor all our trucks to ensure proper fleet management. They also communicate with our clients on a regular basis.
  4. All trucks are equipped with cellular phones. We only use main routes and all trucks are equipped with satellite surveillance and management systems. These security systems act as a deterrent to hijackers and help to ensure both the safety of our drivers and the clients' freight.
  5. We have a contract with a specialized security company that would immediately dispatch helicopters and vehicles to expedite recovery in the event of a hijacking. We also supply the immediate response in house through our Risk department.




Systems

1. Navigator:
Navigator is a fully operational system that monitors the day to day revenue and income of the company. This system tracks POD’s, compiles daily to monthly income reports, it also forms and integral part of the technical operation by allowing fault reports of vehicles, COF’s and services to be tracked on a daily basis. It also provides the luxury of history reports in regards to any financial queries you may have per vehicle or per driver and it provides the same function on a technical level as well. From this one can call up history per vehicle per trailer or per combination. It tracks and controls all aspects of our store facility and parts as well as job cards, COF’s, services, major repairs, minor repairs and breakdowns. All these systems are integrated and complement each other by synchronizing their domains. This combination supplies us with the knowledge of a holistic, complete and well informed approach to all the aspects of the business.

2. Orangeworks:
We have our own financial operating system. This system gives you all the financial controls and was specifically written for us as a transport company and to our specific needs.
